Service chaining is an emerging set of technologies and processes that abstract service logic from the underlying network and enable operators to configure services dynamically. By routing traffic flows according to a “service graph”, service chaining addresses the requirement for both optimization of the network, through better utilization of resources; and monetization, through the provision of services that are tailored to the customer context.

This webinar will discuss emerging approaches to services chaining across both physical and virtual environments, with a view to making operator networks more adaptable to change and more able to keep pace with innovation in the application layer. Among the approaches to be discussed are IETF Service Function Chaining, the NFV Forwarding Graph, and SDN-based traffic steering.



 

David LeGoff, Director of Strategic & Product Marketing, Qosmos
David Le Goff is Director of Strategic & Product Marketing, responsible for market analysis, product strategy, pricing and Qosmos value proposition in the telecom and security markets. He has over ten years’ experience, specializing in OEM networking and carrier applications within companies such as 6WIND, Siemens, Orange, and Alcatel-Lucent.

David’s current focus is on emerging SDN and NFV architectures. He has been actively involved in the ONF Openflow and ETSI NFV standardizations for over 2 years, driving initiatives to add Layer-4 to Layer-7 considerations into the global SDN/NFV picture.

David holds a master’s degree in computer systems and telecommunications from the French engineering school ISEN. .

Uri Elzur, SDN System Architecture Director, Intel Corporation
Uri Elzur is a director of SDN System Architecture with Intel’s Communications and Storage Infrastructure Group. In this role, Uri is responsible for creating SDN and SDI long term vision, technical strategy, architectures and products for server platforms, working with multiple groups and product divisions.

Uri is a networking specialist with more than 25 years of industry experience and a proven track record of creating innovative product architectures, strategies and intellectual property in Networking, Security and related technologies.

Prior to joining Intel, Uri has held a position of a Sr. Director at Broadcom, managing an architecture team with responsibilities over the company’s NIC architecture and strategy. In that role Uri led multiple innovations in the areas of Virtualization, TCP offload, RDMA, iSER, iSCSI/FCoE and more.

Uri holds many patents, represented his employer in multiple standards organizations and industry consortiums including OpenDayLight, ONF, OpenStack, IETF, IEEE, T.11, DMTF and RDMA Consortium and is the co-author of few RFCs.

Uri holds a BSc EE and MSc EE/CS degrees from the Technion in Haifa, Israel.

Gabriel Brown, Senior Analyst - Wireless Data Services & LTE, Heavy Reading
Gabriel covers the mobile network system architecture, including evolution of the RAN, the mobile core, and service-layer platforms and applications.
