Date / Time: Wednesday, March 3, 2021, 10:00 a.m New York / 3:00 p.m London

The 5G Core controls user sessions, mobility, and authentication in a 5G network. It is fundamental to the operation of standalone (SA) 5G networks and integral to advanced 5G services. To achieve the scalability and flexibility required by leading operators, the 5G core is widely expected to be a "cloud native" deployment that leverages state-of-art cloud technology and operating processes.

This webinar presents the key findings from the Heavy Reading Cloud Native 5G Core Operator Survey, conducted in January 2021. Among the topics to be discussed include:

  • Timelines for deployment of 5G core networks
  • The potential impact on consumer and enterprise services
  • Integration with 4G core; the outlook for common 4G/5G core networks
  • Cloud infrastructure choices for 5G core (IaaS vs PaaS)
  • Cloud native operations using CI/CD pipelines
