Global IP media traffic is growing at 32% CAGR, fueled by 4K television, live streaming and video on demand. Telcos and service providers are under pressure to deliver more content at higher quality and better user experience, all while reducing costs and server load, which is a complex technical challenge. Instead of building capacity for peak demand, a more cost-effective, agile approach could be to use cloud-native technologies to optimize infrastructure and assign resources as needed.

In this webinar, Intel, Varnish Software and VMware focus on the challenges of building scalable telco CDNs, and provide insight into media CDN opportunities, technical requirements and the market landscape. They will also talk about their partnership to develop a high-performance virtualized CDN solution and reference architecture, and the session will conclude with a summary of performance test results of the CDN solution.

Key topics include:

  • Bringing video delivery inside core business
  • Lessons learned from building a telco vCDN
  • Matching hardware with software for cost-effective utilization
  • How to bring scalability to the edge for high throughput content distribution
  • How you can you benefit from virtualization without compromising on performance?
