Vyyo Lands Cox & $25 Million in Equity

Vyyo Inc. appears to be on a roll this week.
Vyyo, which provides cable operators with wireless broadband and T-1 solutions, unveiled a small deployment deal with Cox Communications Mon. Under the nearly $500,000 pact, the tech vendor is supplying select Cox systems with T-1 products. Vyyo also said Cox will likely integrate the vendor's 3GHz passive devices in the MSO's next-generation network architectural design.
In addition, Vyyo announced $25 million in fresh equity and debt financing from Goldman, Sachs & Co. on Mon. The vendor said it will use the funds to expand its business in rural parts of the U.S.
Finally, Vyyo said its wireless broadband service for Teton Wireless has now signed up 8,000 high-speed data subscribers in Idaho and Montana. Teton offers the servce to rural communities throughout the Mountain states.
