HOLMDEL, N.J. -- VPIsystems, the provider of product and network lifecycle management software, today announced a breakthrough business model that uses a flexible token licensing scheme to deliver unprecedented software value. The VPI token license program is a subscription-based plan that allows users to access all the software needed to design, configure, plan and deploy communications equipment and networks. Under the system, users can change from one tool to another without incurring more costs for additional software. Kay Iversen, the CEO at VPIsystems says the new business model meets customer needs while significantly improving their return on the software investment. "Our customers have told us they need the flexibility to change projects, technology, work teams and the amount of tools they use, to meet changing business needs. VPI's new token license program gives engineers the freedom to choose the best tool for the task at hand, as and when required." "Conventional licensing schemes burn capital expenditures with large up-front payments. Node-locked licenses limit users to one tool on one computer, while floating licenses limit a handful of users to one application for 1.5 times the price. The VPI token license is a basic unit of currency that is used to access all the tools you need to design and deploy the network, when and where you need them, for a fraction of the cost," Iversen explains.
