CAMARILLO, Calif. -- Vitesse Semiconductor Corporation (Nasdaq:VTSS - news) today named Richard Riker as Vice President, Marketing and Sales, reporting to Lou Tomasetta, president and CEO. In this newly created position located in Camarillo, Riker will be responsible for Vitesse's worldwide sales, marketing communications, and customer support. Mike Logan, Vitesse's vice president, sales will report to Riker. "Vitesse is positioning itself to become a broad line supplier of communication components. Richard's experience in large semiconductor companies and expertise in this industry will benefit Vitesse immensely in propelling our growth in the coming years," stated Tomasetta.Riker has more than 21 years of experience in the semiconductor industry and related fields. He started his career at Texas Instruments. Previous to Vitesse, Riker was Vice President, Sales and Business Development at Stargen. Prior to this, Riker was Director of Sales at Intel and Vice President Worldwide Sales, Digital Semiconductors, a business unit of Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC).
