DENVER -- Virtela, a global network solutions company, today announced the appointment of two sales executives to the senior management team, bringing valuable international industry expertise to drive the company's direct and indirect sales expansion efforts around the world.

Following the appointment of Larry Morgan as president and CEO in June, Virtela is broadening its strong management team to help support its exceptional growth in the managed network and security services market. The company is currently doubling its sales and systems engineering staff across all regions to support growing customer demand.

Bill Dodds has been appointed vice president of direct sales, bringing more than 18 years of experience in direct and indirect sales and sales leadership, customer service and network engineering. Most recently, Dodds served as regional vice president of BT Infonet's largest direct sales channel. Previously, he held senior sales management positions with both MCI and Sprint.

John Powell, who has more than 20 years of diverse management experience in the telecommunications industry, has been appointed vice president of global channels. Most recently, Powell was an area vice president of sales at Equant. Prior to this position, John held a series of executive positions with BT Infonet, including regional vice president of sales, founder and managing director of subsidiary ESG Communications, and CFO of Infonet USA.
