Re: TiVo's last stand
If Comcast chooses to, it can use its superior revenues to continue this in court until TiVi can't afford to any longer.

TiVo's last stand
In a post QAM world, this is TiVo's last stand. I hope they win - Comcast is a rephrehensible (absolutely awful MPEG-4 TV bitrate that they've switched most metro Markets to - I changed providers, but many others are a captive audience) entity that should be broken into pieces.

Hopefully the ITC dispenses justice and awards TiVo a few hundred million / puts an injunction on the X1.

There's still a lot of ambivalence from operators around edge computing, and the killer app for many of them is anything that helps deliver more bits for less money.
And if so, what does a devil's bargain with Android TV mean?
How much will it cost to add intelligence to the network edge?
The set-top is Comcast's primary consumer interface, but it's not the best tool for smart home control.
