SHERMAN OAKS, Calif. -- Vubiquity, the largest global provider of multiplatform video services, today announced the launch of LiveVU, its integrated MPEG-2 /MPEG-4 linear television service for cable operators. Designed to provide superior picture quality, LiveVU serves as a bridge for traditional MVPDs moving to the more efficient, high-quality MPEG-4 Advanced Video Coding (AVC) format, and offers an SD/HD solution to service providers that offer MPEG-2 SD and MPEG-4 HD programming.

With LiveVU, Vubiquity’s customers can easily enhance their service offerings by adding HD channels and other high-bandwidth services that leverage today’s hybrid MPEG-2/MPEG-4 set-top boxes. Vubiquity’s MPEG-4 lineup includes more HD channels than any other provider - 103 HD channels today, with additions to the line-up scheduled throughout 2014. Americable, which provides television service to US military personnel deployed in Asia, will be among the first to launch with the integrated LiveVU solution in June 2014.
