Exton, Pa. -- The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) today announced that Terry Maloney, a marketing and advertising executive with experience in the cable, telecommunications and energy sectors, has been named Vice President, Marketing and Business Development.

Maloney, who has held senior-level marketing positions with Comcast, AT&T Broadband, and Tele-Communications, Inc. during his two-decade career, will be focused on creating and executing on opportunities to drive visibility and success in the market for SCTE, including the Energy 2020 and Corporate Alliance Partner (CAP) programs, SCTE Cable-Tec Expo®, and other educational, standards, and thought-leadership activities.

“As our membership has risen by 57 percent to 22,000 over the past year, there has been need for a similar escalation in our marketing and communications efforts,” said Mark Dzuban, president and CEO of SCTE. “With the addition of Terry Maloney to our senior team, we can significantly and strategically expand communications that will enable individual and corporate members to unlock the full value of SCTE membership.”

Maloney most recently was responsible for marketing to Fortune 1,000 companies for Entertainment Promotions, a leader in integrated retention and loyalty campaigns, and for small-business marketing with Direct Energy, LLC, the second-largest energy retailer in North America. Previously, as a vice president with the Philadelphia-based D4 Creative Group, he had been responsible for creation and implementation of marketing strategies for Comcast, Cox, Charter, Time Warner Cable, and other cable system operators.

Beginning as an advertising sales executive with TCI, Maloney rose to positions of increasing responsibility during the subsequent 15 years. He served as national new market strategy development manager with AT&T Broadband before becoming senior director of marketing and sales for Comcast’s Eastern Division. Under Maloney, the Eastern Division was a consistent leader for Comcast in high-speed data and voice net additions, ARPU, and contribution to overall ARPU for four years.
