Re: Good scoop! It will be interesting to see what markets Comcast (or Cox) end up with the 4K capable boxes. Still without much compelleing content other than NASA broadcasts or the science folks it hard to see where and when the market might pick up speed to be competitive across the board.

Re: Good scoop! Yeah I guess I had forgotten that a shiny new 4K set top isn't of much use if you have no content to show on it (especially outside of VOD).

Re: Good scoop! My understanding is that Comcast isn't ready to start delivering its own 4K content yet. If that's the case, then these set-tops may only be good for supporting 4K content from OTT services like Netflix in the short term. And Comcast may not want to advertise that fact.

The interesting thing to me is that I've gotten no response from the PR team on this story, which is usually quite responsive even if only to give a no comment. I'm not at all sure how to interpret that except that for one reason or another they clearly don't want to engage on this issue.

Good scoop! Great scoop! Interesting they wouldn't want to even hype this product a little. Must definitely be a very small deployment to not warrant a single ounce of hype.
