SAN DIEGO -- Rock Church, one of the largest, most innovative churches in the U.S., provides a plethora of rich multimedia content for its attendees, many of whom are Echo Boomers, and Cox Business voice, data and video services are at the heart of it all.

Rock Church is not the average house of worship. On Sundays, the modern church pumps high definition video onto a 90-foot screen in a theater that fills with 3,500 attendees for each of its five services. Rock Church's Web site hosts a variety of audio and video content, including sermons, short messages from the pastor and podcasts.

Through its multimedia presentations and alternative information channels such as Internet video and podcasts, Rock Church is able to reach out to a larger audience. And, with the majority of its parishioners under the age of 30, it's attracting the Echo Boomer generation (children of Baby Boomers, roughly 14 – 30 years old), which responds to technology and the idea of having anytime access to spiritual resources. For example, many will access Rock Church messages remotely while traveling to see family this Easter season.

“Rock Church is a great example of a customer using our network for what it was made for – to make communication easier, faster, more effective and far-reaching,” said Larry Coval, vice president of Cox Business in San Diego. “By leveraging our technology, Rock Church is able to impact a larger and broader audience and fulfill the mission of the organization.”
