MILPITAS, Calif. -- Velio Communications, Inc. today announced GigaCore2, the next generation of its industry-leading serial I/O technology, which enables leading platform vendors to scale the performance and density of their high-speed datacom, storage and telecom systems with backplane speeds up to 6.25 Gb/s, all while maintaining backward compatibility with existing line-cards.Doubling backplane speeds of existing equipment is the next step for many of the platform vendors, as most of their end customers wish to maximize the bandwidth and density of their existing equipment instead of changing platforms.
