Vativ Gets $11M B Round

SAN DIEGO -- Vativ Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of innovative DSP-based silicon solutions for high-bandwidth transport over copper, announced today that it has raised $11 million in a second round of venture funding to launch its high performance digital television products and its 10Gigabit Ethernet devices. Participating in this round are new investors InnoCal Venture Capital, the lead investor, and the Intel Digital Home Fund. Existing investors, Redpoint Venture Capital, Mission Ventures, and QUALCOMM co-founder Dr. Andrew Viterbi also participated in the round.

"Vativ has consistently executed on its product and revenue plans with efficient capital utilization," said Rick Gold, managing director at InnoCal Venture Capital. "They have developed advanced and innovative DSP-based products resulting in market-leading performance. We are excited to partner with such a promising company." Gold had joined Vativ's board of directors in conjunction with InnoCal's investment.

"Vativ's high-bandwidth transceiver technology will be a core silicon component for transmitting very high-quality video content between consumer electronic devices, including PCs, and high-definition TVs," said Curt Nichols, Intel Capital vice president. "This investment is part of Intel Capital's strategy of enabling an ecosystem of complementary technologies for the networked digital home."
