Strategic partnership delivers IP telecommunications and subscriber services to Chile

MIRAMAR, Fla. -- UTStarcom, Inc. (Nasdaq: UTSI), a global leader in IP access networking and services, today announced a strategic partnership with Coasin, a leading integrator of IT and communications technologies in Chile, to deliver IP telecommunications services to the Chilean market, as well as an array of subscriber services including retail engineering, equipment supply, installation, deployment and execution, user training, post-sales support, helpdesk, turnkey projects and operational support.

A country where more than 65 percent of all residents have some means of telecommunications, Chile has a population of approximately 15 million people and a per capita gross domestic product (GDP) of $4,314. Of the 10 million Chileans with telecommunications services, 3.5 million have fixed-line phones while more than six million have cellular service.
