HICKORY, N.C. -- The 3rd generation of the MTP multifiber connector for use with Conec® MTferrules is available now from US Conec. The new MTP connector features:UL94 V0 components, a pinclamp that constrains the spring to avoid anypotential interference with the fiber ribbon, elliptical guidepin tips forsmoother mating without debris buildup, and new ferrule centering featuresin the housing for easier mating.Additionally, US Conec is expanding the MTP connector family to includeapplication specific MTP kits. A bare ribbon version with a strain reliefboot and a short version for use on circuit boards or other spaceconstrained areas is now available. The short version reduces the connectorfootprint by 45%.The new components are interchangeable with current components and MTPconnectors assembled with either set of components are fully TIA/EIA-604-5(FOCIS 5 Type MPO) and IEC 1754-7 compliant and intermateable. The MTP connector is an improved version of the original NTT designed MPOconnector. The MTP family of connectors offers reduced assembly time, guaranteed guide pin retention, removable housings, and a patented housingdesign with increased ferrule float for improved mechanical performance. In a separate release:The new UL® approved epoxy curing oven from US Conec is specificallydesigned for MT and MT-RJ ferrules but can accommodate any ferrule type. Theoven holds up to 24 ferrules in a tightly groomed fashion. The oven has a novel design to accurately monitor and control epoxy curetemperature. Temperature and time settings are selected through twoconvenient digital controllers and displayed on LCD front panels. The ovenallows two modes of curing time operation: the set point temperature can beheld indefinitely or set to cut off after a specific amount of time. Thetimer can be programmed for seconds, minutes, or hours. The oven operates ineither 110V or 220V environments and is designed for a maximum temperatureof 150*C.In a separate release:A new compact cassette-style fiber tip cleaner is available now from USConec. The densely woven micro-fiber dry cloth cleaning system accommodatesMTP*/MPO, MT-RJ, all single fiber connector types, and Small Form Factorduplex connectors such as LC and MU. The improved cloth and package designoffers cost and time savings compared to earlier reel-type cleaners. One squeeze of the ergonomically designed lever advances and exposes therequired amount of fresh cleaning fabric for each cleaning. A shutter closeswhen the lever is released. This simple, effective design is ideal for fieldor factory cleaning requirements.Today's optical networking components requiring minimal insertion loss andback reflection demand quick, reliable cleaning solutions. Fiber tipscontaining even trace amounts of debris not only suffer from powerdegradation but also an increased likelihood of permanent damage when mated.Manufactured by NTT-AT, the new cleaner has consistently outperformedcompeting cloth cleaning technologies based on GR-2329 contamination testingrequirements. The anti-static cloth material minimizes contaminantattraction and produces a pristine fiber tip. One swipe produces .06kV ofpotential vs. .33kV for other dry cloth cleaners. The cleaning fabric ispre-washed and produces less than 70 pcs/CFM of particles > 1mm in size, making this system excellent for use in any production environment includingclean rooms. In a separate release:US Conec, LTD, a leading manufacturer and supplier of highprecision multifiber ferrules, precision alignment components, automatedpolishing equipment and the MTPR connector interface is pleased toannouncethe release of Concours NP* Non-planar Optical Circuits. The proliferation of optical networking equipment and components isaccelerating the need for custom arrayed fiber management tools tominimizecost, increase density, and eliminate complexity. Many dense opticalnetworking systems that require shuffled fibers have limited areaavailablefor storage of a planar optical flex circuit. Concours NP* offers anon-planar version of the US Conec Concours* Flexible Optical Circuit.ByStoring the cross-connect portion of the circuit in a UL 94V-0 ratedprotective flexible tube, the required card or backplane mounting realestate is minimized. The bendable tubing allows the circuit to be mounted in a flexed state, avoiding other components while respecting the minimum bend radius ofthefiber. A full line of UL 94V-0 rated mounting accessories areavailablewhich offer a simple means of mounting Concours NP* to the card, backplane or chassis. US Conec Ltd.
