As some of you will know, this has been Unstrung's mission since its inception in March 2000. But things are going to get a lot more wide-ranging, thought-provoking, and irreverent, now that the New Unstrung has emerged, butterfly-like, from its chrysalis.
Yes, the New Unstrung is a beautiful thing. It's now global in reach rather than US-centric. It's also dedicated to being first with the news, and first with analysis of the news. And there's also lot of other stuff to inform and entertain you.
We'll take you on a little tour to show you what we mean in a moment. But before we do that, here's some background to put things into context:
Today's relaunch of Unstrung stems from the Website's acquisition by Light Reading Inc. last February (see Light Reading Gets Unstrung). Light Reading has achieved phenomenal success in the optical networking market by delivering high-quality editorial for free. It has close to one million readers. It's now aiming to repeat this success in the wireless market.
We, the authors of this column, are:
- Dan Jones, Senior Editor, Unstrung, based in New York, and formerly with Computer Wire
- Ray Le Maistre, European Editor, Unstrung, based in London, and formerly editor of Total Telecom
