UGC Still Going?

  • Just as other sites like YouTube and Metacafe begin to move away from user-generated content (UGC), Break Media says it's increasing the amount of money it spends on UGC by 50 percent. According to VP Jonathan Small, they came to the decision based on the fact that their audience -- primarily men aged 18 to 34 -- loves UGC.

  • Contentinople's Scott Raynovich invites us to free ourselves from the shackles of guilt. The problems that the newspaper, cable, and music industries face are not our fault, he writes. Rather, these industries need to focus on capturing our attention with quality products.

  • Sling Media launched its iPhone app that allows users to access cable or satellite TV programming remotely, but so far it only works in areas with WiFi connections.
