HONG KONG -- Ubiquity Software (London:UBQ.L - News) today announced its participation as a founding partner in the Microsoft Connected Services Sandbox, a new program designed to unite independent software vendors (ISVs), developers, systems integrators (SIs), network equipment providers (NEPs) and telecommunications service providers in developing and testing new compelling communications services, and ultimately, bring these new services to market.

The Connected Services Sandbox is a proof-of-concept and live development environment for developers to create and test applications utilizing Microsoft Connected Services Framework. In the Sandbox, Ubiquity will offer developers access to its award-winning SIP Application Server (SIP A/S), its SIP Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) and a suite of developer tools. Telephony services available through the Ubiquity platform include inbound call notification, audio conferencing, audio message playback and third party call control (for example, click-to-dial).

At ITU Telecom World, Ubiquity and Microsoft will highlight the powerful capabilities of the companies' combined platforms in a jointly developed demo application called "I'm Lost." Users can call into the "I'm Lost" service, which then provides directions to a location, such as a meeting or appointment, or ATM machine. The application involves several different platforms including Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft MapPoint, the Ubiquity SIP A/S, and a GPS-enabled mobile phone. Microsoft Corp. will be showing the "I'm Lost" demo at ITU Telecom World 2006, in booth #1012, during show hours.
