Something to do with a 'Rugged Optical Butt Joint'

HARRISBURG, Pa. -- Tyco Electronics, a business segment of Tyco International Ltd., today announces a marketing alliance to expand upon the EPXA & B Series Connector Agreement with Radiall S.A., which includes the LuxCis T Series Rugged Optical Butt Joint Ferrule technology. Tyco Electronics also announces a marketing alliance with Radiall for Tyco Electronics' PRO BEAM R Mini Expanded Beam Connector Series. "This brings to the rugged optics market an excellent multi-sourced solution set. Multi-pin and high-density butt joint technology combined with protected behind-lens technology provides an excellent solution package to meet challenging needs with a very flexible product mix," comments Tyco Electronics' Product Manager, Earle Olson.

Under the terms of the agreement, Tyco Electronics is qualified as a second source supplier and authorized to market and sell the LuxCis T termini globally for the EPXA& B. Tyco Electronics will provide a second source for the LuxCis T terminus housed in the EPXA & B connectors, as well as solutions for rugged single, dual and multi-pin interconnects that include simplex, duplex, circular and ARINC 600 connectors. Additionally, Tyco Electronics has extended to Radiall authorization to market and sell the PRO BEAM R Mini (one, two and four fiber singlemode and multimode) Expanded Beam series of rugged interconnects.

Tyco Electronics and Radiall are authorized to modify, expand, and extend the mutual product designs as needed to fulfill the requirements of new applications and markets. The two companies will work together to deliver truly intermateable, interchangeable products by sharing designs on existing products, as well as on product range extensions.
