PEMBROKE, Bermuda -- Tyco International Ltd. (NYSE:TYC, BSX: TYC, LSE: TYI) today announced the appointment of John E. Evard, Jr. as Senior Vice President, Tax. He comes to Tyco from United Technologies (UTC) where he served as Vice President, Tax. Mr. Evard will be responsible for all of Tyco's tax activities worldwide. He will report to Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer David J. FitzPatrick. Mr. FitzPatrick said: "Given Tyco's size and the diversity of its business operations, it is essential that we have an extraordinarily professional, world-class team overseeing the complex financial issues facing the Company.
