STOCKHOLM -- Transmode and Proximion Fiber Systems AB are jointly demonstrating the unique 10 Gbit/s network solution using ultra-low loss and full-band Dispersion Compensation Module at this year’s OFC/NFOEC event at Anaheim, California. The Proximion DCM-FB is the next generation Dispersion Management solution utilizing Fibre Bragg Grating (FBG) technology which enables systems vendors to provide the most cost effective 10 Gbit/s network and beyond.

“As DWDM networks are becoming more and more advanced, the importance of Dispersion Management is constantly increasing. Our aim is to supply xWDM systems that offer the most cost effective Network Solutions including Dispersion Compensation for 10 Gbit/s today, whilst also being prepared for our customers’ development of more flexible optical networking in the future” says Magnus Öberg, CTO at Transmode. “The advantages of FBG based Dispersion Management such as the low loss, the low residual dispersion for any-fiber and the small building practices are enablers towards achieving this.“

Transmode currently provide a range of WDM based optical networking solutions that address optical access and optical transport applications. These solutions are deployed in excess of 100 customer networks, which address a wide range of applications including long reach solutions requiring dispersion management. Recently Transmode have announced enhancements to their portfolio including extended reach capabilities.

“Our DCM-FB based on our world-class FBG Technology and demonstrated in the Transmode system, is designed to meet the requirements from the most demanding optical networking applications” says Pär Johanson, Director Marketing and Sales of Proximion.
