Time Warner, Not Vonage, Leads VoIP Growth

The ongoing claims by the hype-masters at Vonage Holdings Corp. that the company is "the fastest growing telephony company in North America" are as reliable as Vonage's E-911 service. The company's latest press release justifies its 'fastest growing' claim by noting that "Vonage continues to add more than 15,000 lines per week to its network.' Note that claim is for LINES, not subscribers. Time Warner Cable is now adding more than 15,000 subscribers per week. If Time Warner customers are taking an average of 1.2 lines each, then the MSO is adding over 18,000 lines per week. Sorry Vonage. Time Warner Cable is actually North America's fastest growing VoIP provider. Can you hang up on the hype already? Your claims don't ring true.
