Time Warner Cable Cools in Q2
On the high-speed data (HSD) front, Time Warner added only 230,000 subscribers, down 33.5% from its record-setting 346,000 adds in the previous quarter. But Time Warner did post a 14.4% gain in HSD adds, compared to the same period a year ago. As a result, it counted 5.4 million residential HSD subscribers at the end of June.
Time Warner also posted its best quarter for business data services in the last seven. It added 12,000 business customers in the second quarter, bringing its total to 228,000.
Turning to digital video, Time Warner Cable netted 171,000 digital customers, down 29% on a sequential basis but up 18.7% year-on-year. The MSO closed out June with 5.8 million digital cable and 11 million basic cable customers.
