QUEBEC CITY -- TeraXion Inc., a technology leader in the development of advanced optical components for high-speed optical networks, today announced that its ClearSpectrum™ dispersion compensation module has successfully completed rigorous environmental tests that correspond with Telcordia GR-1209 and GR-1221 guidelines. These tests are required by system vendors as a generic proxy to ensure reliability of passive components.

Chromatic dispersion compensators are used in optical networks to reduce the accumulated dispersion in optical signals carrying information. TeraXion's fiber Bragg grating-based dispersion compensators are meant to complement and even, replace current solutions using dispersion compensating fiber which is known to have limited performance in many applications. The ClearSpectrum™-DCM is the ideal solution to correct residual dispersion slope in long-haul networks or as an in-line alternative to DCF where size or insertion loss is a concern.
