WILMINGTON, Mass. -- Telephotonics Inc., an emerging leader in highly integrated optical components announces the TVA family of Variable Optical Attenuator (VOA) Arrays. The TVA family, based on Telephotonics’ OASIC™ (Optical Application-Specific Integrated Circuit) architecture, is the industry's newest, most cost-effective intelligent optical solution for dynamic channel equalization and load balancing in optical networking systems. The optional monitoring and fault isolation capability of the TVA family provides valuable dynamic information about the status of individual wavelengths. The TVA family of VOA arrays consists of fully self-contained functional elements that are operated using an intuitive set of software commands. “Low-cost, intelligent VOA arrays are an important element in the roll-out of DWDM.” said Bill Giudice, Telephotonics' CEO. "Telephotonics is focused on delivering the promise of integrated optics by integrating several discrete elements into a monolithic optical circuit. The technology embodied by the TVA family demonstrates the promise of low-cost, highly integrated optical components. As we add to our library of optical elements, we will continue to release affordable, state-of-the-art integrated optical components, providing our customers with new functionality and lowering the total cost of ownership of equipment that is built using our components.”Telephotonics Inc.
