MIAMI and HILLSIDE, N.J. -- Telefonica Data USA Inc., the US subsidiary of Telefonica S.A. (NYSE: TEF - News), and a provider of global corporate telecommunications services, and Wire One Technologies, Inc, (Nasdaq: WONE - News), a provider of video communications solutions, have signed a sales agent agreement to jointly market Wire One's Glowpoint(SM) award-winning video communications service to US multinationals with presence in Latin America. The partnership expands a strategic business relationship between the two companies formed last October when Wire One began utilizing Telefonica's network data centers and co-location facilities to expand the Wire One service footprint into the Caribbean and Latin America. "Telefonica has a long history of offering differentiated and innovative new services to customers in Latin America, and we couldn't have aligned ourselves with a more influential partner to expand Glowpoint's audience into these important markets," said Richard Reiss, Chairman and CEO of Wire One. "Joining forces with one of the world's premier telecommunication companies is a tremendous endorsement of Glowpoint's carrier-class level of service, and we're excited to demonstrate to their existing and new customers just how reliable, secure and cost-effective videoconferencing can be." "Telefonica is committed to bringing US multi-national companies operating in Latin America the most innovative telecommunications solutions," said Pete Pizarro, Telefonica Data USA, Inc. CEO. "Based on Telefonica's Global Network quality of service, Glowpoint's turn-key video solutions and valuable features make it an ideal addition to our expanding solutions portfolio."
