PARIS --

  • Following the presentation of the NExT (New Experience in Telecom Services) program on June 29, today France Telecom is launching new innovations for home broadband services.

  • These include Liveservices, a package of wireless services based on Livebox and Livecom, the first PC communication software integrating videophony, unlimited calls via ADSL and instant messaging.

  • These services open up a whole new world of communication, information and leisure for customers, simplifying their daily lives.

Live Services (1), a new universe of innovative services based on Livebox and broadband services from France Telecom.
With Liveservices, home multimedia equipment (fixed or mobile telephone, video phone, camera, television, stereo system, etc.) can be connected up to broadband through a Livebox, giving users access to a new range of practical, simple and secure services:

  • Livephone, the first wireless broadband phone that gives users access to their Wanadoo address book, alerts them to new mail and provides weather and traffic reports, sports results and much more, without users even having to turn their computers on. The Livephone terminal is on sale at EUR99.00 incl. VAT.

  • Livezoom makes it possible to know what is happening at home anytime, anywhere. A wireless camera connected to Livebox means that pictures of the home can be viewed from any video-compatible mobile phone or any PC with an Internet connection. The Livezoom pack is on sale at EUR199 incl. VAT; the service is free for the first year then will be charged at EUR3 incl. VAT/month.

  • Live electronic surveillance makes it possible to detect attempted break-ins and alert the client and the surveillance center. This service is offered in conjunction with EPS, the leading electronic surveillance operator in France for the residential market. Live electronic surveillance has all the advantages of broadband, namely free calls between detectors and the surveillance center, and immediate notification if the connection is cut by an intruder or if the telephone line is cut. Installation and connection charges for the detectors come to EUR99 incl. VAT (free during the launch phase); the service charge starts from EUR19.90 incl. VAT/month for an apartment and from EUR24.90 incl. VAT/month for a house.

  • Livemusic from Wanadoo makes it possible to listen to Internet radio or MP3 files saved on your computer on your stereo or home cinema using the Philips SLA 5500. Available at EUR129 incl. VAT.

  • Photo Transfer allows users to send photos taken with a Bluetooth mobile phone directly to their "Wanadoo photoblog" (a personal space available to all Wanadoo subscribers at wanadoo.fr for managing and sharing their photos). The photos are then immediately available online on the "Wanadoo photoblog" web page.

The Liveservices work whether or not the computer is turned on. There are no additional cables to connect the Livebox, which is equipped with Bluetooth and WiFi wireless technologies. Installation kits have been developed to make it easy to install and configure. A fee-based installation and set-up service will also be available to customers who want to be guided through all of the Liveservices.

These Liveservices were pre sold in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur and Hauts de Seine regions on June 30, 2005, and will be made available throughout France in October 2005. New services will be added to the range over the coming months with new Liveservices.

Livecom, the most direct way to share everything
With Livecom, users can call their friends and family at any time on their PC, fixed line, 2G or 3G mobile or video phone (2).

The Livecom software suite enables Internet users to benefit from all the possibilities available for multimedia communication between two or more people in real time, with three types of communication: video phone, audio or text (instant messaging, SMS or email).

Livecom is a set of innovative services for PC that can be downloaded free of charge from www.wanadoo.fr. It brings together the Wanadoo messenger and Wanadoo video features, while integrating new innovative multimedia uses. Livecom, already available to all Internet users (whether Wanadoo subscribers or not), is an intuitive user-friendly product with a rich range of practical and fun services, such as personalized software interfaces, file sharing and transfers during calls, single or multi-player games, and much more.

PC-to-PC communications between Livecom users are free and unlimited. To call telephones and video phones, Livecom users can subscribe to prepaid packages for EUR5, EUR10, EUR15 or EUR25, which include a dedicated 08 7 telephone number for receiving all types of calls and an audio/video messaging service.

Moving towards home networking
As the market moves towards multiplay, the France Telecom Group is going one step further thanks to its capacity for innovation and network control (96% of the French population will be covered by ADSL broadband by the end of 2005), enabling its users to access a new universe of wireless broadband services. With Livebox and a Wanadoo broadband connection, the user's home digital equipment can be simply connected, providing communication, information, leisure and practical services, adapted to the needs of each user.

Livebox is therefore the keystone of home networking and the point of convergence for equipment and technologies, offered to customers in one simple transparent product.

The launch of the NExT program and its new integrated and innovative products will make France Telecom the operator of choice for new telecommunications services in Europe.
