PETACH TIKVA, Israel -- Tadiran Telecom, a leading global IP business telephone and communications supplier, today announced the completion of a communication network for Kazakhmys Corporation, the world's tenth largest refined copper producer employing 66,000 workers. Tadiran won this project against fierce competition from Nortel, Avaya, Siemens, Nokia, and Alcatel and has been deploying this intricate solution, comprising 40 systems that support the corporate center and remote mines, over a period of four years. The financial value of the project is about 3 million dollars.

Vladimir Khan, Chief of IT and Telecommunications, Kazakhmys Copper Corporation, said that "Kazakhmys chose Tadiran Telecom for its high product reliability and quality, as well as for its ability to supply a complex solution meeting the unique requirements of the mining industry. During the four years of this project we have received outstanding service from Tadiran's business partner in Kazakhstan - ADVANTEK SYSTEMS, and the Coral systems have been operating under extreme conditions, in an outdoors environment with minimum downtime. Following the success of this project we are looking into the possibility of adding Tadiran's IP solutions."

"We were able to carry out this complicated project due to our deep understanding of the Kazakhstan market and culture through our business partner there." said Zeev Aviv, VP Sales & Marketing, Tadiran Telecom. "We have had great success in providing communications solutions to customers in different forms of mining (coal, metal alloys, diamonds etc.) mainly in the Russian and CIS market, China and India."
