Swiss Mobile TV Kicks Off

11:30 AM -- Swisscom Broadcast AG, the broadcast unit of Swisscom AG (NYSE: SCM), won the national mobile TV license in Switzerland. But the most important license condition is that the new DVB-H network has to be up and running in time for the Euro 2008 football championship in June next year, which Switzerland is hosting along with Austria. The Swiss broadcaster is required to reach 44 percent population coverage by May 2008 so that there can be mobile TV broadcasts in the Swiss host cities of Basle, Berne, Zurich, and Geneva during the tournament.
