Who will buy Charter: Comcast or T-Mobile?
Analysts expect either Comcast or T-Mobile to make a play for Charter Communications. That's because the incoming Trump administration may be lenient toward such mega-transactions.

BT has updated its Carbon Network Dashboard to offer customers a more granular view of their energy consumption and carbon emissions. The dashboard tracks "near real-time" electricity consumption of network and data-center infrastructure. The update allows it to tie consumption to individual traffic patterns caused by individual applications. The company seems to have made this happen with AI in mind, saying its consumption patterns are different from other applications and prone to unexpected spikes.
Vodafone and Digi (a Romania-based operator) have signed an MoU with the Hellenic Telecommunications Organization (OTE) to acquire the latter firm's subsidiary, Telekom Romania Mobile, Reuters has reported. Vodafone, however, reportedly said the talks were at an early stage with no certainty as to whether a deal will be reached. The news comes after Digi signed a deal with the Deutsche Telekom-owned OTE in May to acquire Telekom Romania Mobile.
UAE state-owned operator e& has signed an MoU with ZTE, described by the companies as a strategic partnership focused on innovation. They will work on developing energy-efficient and sustainable network solutions, as well as designing 5G and 5G-Advanced technology including private networks.
Software Radio Systems, a company that makes 5G RAN software, has said it had successfully integrated and tested nine open RAN radio units with its srsRAN enterprise 5G software solution. The software is optimized for open RAN split 7.2 and is said to support seamless interoperability with third-party radio units to enable faster network deployment and prevent the need for integration support. The nine radio units came from Benetel, Foxconn, Picocom, Liteon, VVDN and AMD.
Viettel has tapped Nokia to provide its optical transport solution to address growing demand for 5G and data center interconnect, as well as to provide cross-border connectivity. The rollout should be completed next year and comes after the Vietnamese operator used Nokia's PSE-6s to achieve data transmission at 1.2Tbit/s per wavelength in a real-world environment, which Nokia says is a speed record.
