Startup Company Profile #3: CableMatrix Technologies

CableMatrix Technologies is one of two start-ups in the PacketCable Multimedia (PCMM) Policy Server space.

Launched in 2003, CableMatrix is no stranger to the cable industry. The company's origins trace back to Israeli broadband data and telephony equipment supplier GADline, which morphed into CableCom Solutions after a sale to and buy-back from Com21. CableMatrix has landed $4 million in funding from Walden Israel, Veritas Venture Partners, EnerTech Capital, and Intel Digital Home Fund.

In May 2005 CableMatrix merged with PCMM application manager platform developer Xinnia Technology, complementing its policy server solution. Headquartered near Chicago with R&D in Israel, CableMatrix counts 31 employees and says its PCMM products are in trials with undisclosed MSOs. These include its ODSP (On-Demand Service Platform) policy server and Smart Agents application software.
