State of Montana selects Sprint as provider of voice and collaborative services to all state agencies

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- Sprint (NYSE: FON - News, PCS - News) announced that it has signed a multiyear, multimillion-dollar communications services agreement with the State of Montana that makes Sprint the sole provider of all the state's vital voice traffic for all state agencies. The agreement delivers a wide range of communications technologies, including dedicated and switched inbound and outbound voice traffic, operator services, calling card services and domestic and international directory service. It will also bring significant cost savings to the state while simplifying billing and customer service operations. "Sprint responded professionally and competitively concerning the state's long-distance telephone requirements during the contract process," said Brian Wolf, Montana's chief information officer. We look forward to working with Sprint as a strategic partner for these services." The state is also implementing Sprint Audio Conferencing(SM) services, a tool that will be used to enhance information exchange and bring state employees together from virtually anywhere. The services allow the many state agencies, which are geographically dispersed to conduct business in a more cost effective manner, avoiding the downtime and travel expenses associated with live conferences.
