NEW YORK -- US wireless service provider Sprint Nextel (S:NYSE) has just entered into a patent license agreement with Klausner Technologies, Inc. for Sprint’s new Visual Voicemail service. The patent license also covers the Samsung Instinct cell phone, unveiled by Sprint and Samsung at the current CTIA wireless show in Las Vegas. The Samsung Instinct handset includes the Visual Voicemail feature.

Sprint Nextel is the seventh company to date to license the Klausner visual voicemail patents. Other licensees include ISP’s such as Time Warner’s (TWX:NYSE) AOL , VoIP providers such as Vonage Holdings, Inc. (VG:NYSE), and ASP’s such as Simulscribe and Simulsays for Blackberry (RIMM:NASDAQ).

Sprint was not a defendant in the pending patent infringement lawsuit brought by Klausner against Apple, Inc.(APPL:NASDAQ) for its iPhone Visual Voicemail. Other remaining defendants in the pending litigation include ATT, Inc. (T:NYSE), eBay (EBAY:NASDAQ) and Comcast Corporation (CMCSA:NASDAQ). Klausner is represented in the litigation by the law firm of Dovel & Luner.
