IneoQuest Launches Cricket

MANSFIELD, Mass. -- In a move to ensure high-quality IPTV viewing experience, while helping reduce cost and speed deployment of IPTV rollouts, IneoQuest Technologies today announced the industry’s first customer-premise-based interactive IPTV quality measurement device.

Designed for use in early IPTV field trials, service roll-outs and deployment troubleshooting, Cricket is an appliance that allows IPTV viewers to register their perception of a bad picture by simply pushing a button on the device or their remote control. This customer action timestamps the event, correlates it with all ongoing measurements that Cricket is logging, and notifies the network operations center (NOC). Alerted to a specific IPTV fault at a specific TV, the service provider can be proactive in correcting the situation, potentially leading to reduced call center traffic volume.

“IneoQuest is in the business of measurement, service providers are in the business of quality IPTV delivery,” said Marc Todd, President and CEO of IneoQuest. “With Cricket, IneoQuest helps service provider’s measure both real-time IPTV service as well as the customer’s unique quality of experience.”
