Anritsu Tests 100G at OFC

LOS ANGELES -- Anritsu Company (OFC booth #1710) announces its MP1800A BERT Signal Quality Analyzer (SQA) will be part of a live demonstration of 25-28 Gb/s optical links designed to support 100 Gb/s networking applications being conducted by Kotura, Inc. (#1951) during OFC 2012. In the demonstration, the MP1800A will help verify the performance of the low-power 100 gigabits per second optical engine that is designed for integration into Next Generation Networks (NGNs).

The MP1800A features an expandable and flexible configuration with wideband frequency coverage from 100 Mbps to 56 Gbps. It was selected for the demonstration, in part, because it features a multiple synchronized 28G BERT with a built-in Pulse Pattern Generator (PPG) that supports output of high-quality, low intrinsic jitter signals, as well as a built-in Error Detector (ED) with high input sensitivity. The low intrinsic jitter and fast Tr/Tf capability allow the MP1800A to conduct highly accurate signal integrity analysis, including bathtub and Q measurements. Additionally, the BERT SQA’s 3.5Vp-p high output voltage allows it to drive optical components.
