Telcordia's Suitor Identified
DUBLIN -- Management World 2011 -- Word on the show floor here in Dublin, and emanating from the investment banking community, suggests that the company engaged to Telcordia Technologies Inc. is HP Inc. (NYSE: HPQ). (See Telcordia Acquired?)
While a number of industry analysts and senior industry executives suggested HP might be the company that's been courting Telcordia recently, another source who has had recent contact with the investment banking community tells Light Reading that HP's name has been seen on documents related to a deal with Telcordia.
HP says it has "a strict policy of not commenting on speculation about financial matters, including acquisitions," while Telcordia says it doesn't comment on speculation or rumor.
Such a deal would create a Service Provider Information Technology (SPIT) powerhouse as both HP and Telcordia are already among the telecom software market's most powerful and experienced players. But as Light Reading has noted previously, any company swallowing Telcordia would find themselves with a massive integration task.
