2:00 AM -- John de Keijzer is what I'd call a "modern telco guy." He has responsibility for technology systems at Swisscom AG (NYSE: SCM), but his focus is on the service his customers are getting.
And he has an interesting way of looking at things: Over-the-top (OTT) services, for example, provide "experience roaming," rather than the network roaming that telcos offer.
He thinks traditional operators can provide both and make use of their strengths to play a role in the communications ecosystem, but that's largely because Swisscom is already some way down an organizational and cultural transformation at the heart of which is the integration of the operator's network and IT operations, something we refer to as Bridging the Chasm.
That process also earned Swisscom a place in The Top 20 Bridge Builders report.
