WATERLOO, Ontario -- Sandvine, (TSX: SVC)(AIM: SAND) a leading provider of intelligent broadband network solutions for DSL, FTTH, cable, fixed wireless and mobile operators, today announced that, since June 2007, PT First Media Tbk, the largest broadband provider in Indonesia has been using Sandvine's PTS 14000 and Intelligent Broadband Network Solutions to improve network visibility, deliver new services, and ensure fair use of network resources.

First Media has aggressive goals to increase its broadband uptake from 18,000 subscribers in mid 2007 to 150,000 in 2008 and its overall subscriber base to one million by 2009. Although the Indonesian Ministry of Communications and Informatics forecasts Internet users will reach almost 80 million by 2010, broadband subscribers only represented 0.9 million of that amount in 2007. First Media's vision is to dramatically reduce the price of high speed Internet access to make it accessible for more Indonesians.

In order to do so, First Media wanted to understand what traffic was flowing through its networks. First Media selected Sandvine's PTS 14000 and Intelligent Broadband Network Solutions to enable this visibility and help them optimize their existing network, as well as ensure fair utilization of network resources among applications and subscribers.

"Sandvine's subscriber-friendly solutions and leading-edge technology allowed us to achieve our goal of offering subscribers fast, reliable and affordable Internet services," said First Media Chief Executive Officer, Roberto Feliciano. "We are aggressively expanding and upgrading our network to deliver multimedia broadband services to our subscribers."
