OSS Architect Is an iWinner

6:35 AM -- When OSS architect Andy Dede attended Light Reading's Service Provider Information Technology (SPIT) event in London earlier this week, he knew he was going to get a full day of thought-provoking presentations, a nice lunch and afternoon cocktails, but he wasn't expecting a nice slice of Apple too.

But that's what he got, because Dede, who works at U.K. mobile operator Three UK , won an Apple Inc. (Nasdaq: AAPL) iPod touch in the end-of-day prize draw. "I've never won anything before in my life!" exclaimed Dede, who added that he was "naturally quite thrilled" to have his name drawn from the hat.

The prize draw followed a full day of presentations and discussion about the future role of OSS and BSS systems, and how they can be used to drive future revenues. For more on that event, see the following articles and videos:
