Mgmt World: Putting Down Roots in Europe
RootMetrics has developed software that measures mobile customer experience using specific measurements, such as the downstream data rate being experienced within a particular cell. The company is already attracting attention with its reports and data, as used in this Light Reading Mobile article from January this year -- CES Operator Winners & Losers.
Now CEO and founder Paul Griff is in Europe to check out the region's market dynamics and meet with some movers and shakers with a view to expanding onto the Old Continent.
Griff showed us his company's consumer application, which illustrates, for example, the quality of mobile data coverage within a particular area and the performance of individual operators compared with each other -- a powerful tool!
If RootMetrics can gain a reputation for delivering reliable results from its algorithms, then it's set to be a company worth watching.
— Ray Le Maistre, International Managing Editor, Light Reading
I like Root Metrics because they seem more independent than most metrics companies I've talked to. Root doesn't fence sit and doesn't feel like a startup that's hoping to sign up operators as customers and, thus, won't talk smack.
