HERZLIYA, Israel -- ComAbility (www.comability.com), an Israeli startup company developing subscriber and services operations platforms for carriers and communication service providers, today announced the completion of a $6M round of financing. The round was co-led by Stata Ventures and Vertex Venture Capital.

Though a round A, ComAbility has already deployed its product at several Tier 1-3 operators in the DSL, Mobile data and Wireless service sectors in EMEA. The funding will allow the company to expand from a regional to a global market presence and to continue development of the next product lines.

Mr. Alon Fishman, formerly VP at Ascend Technology Ventures, has joined ComAbility as CEO. Mr. Doron Givoni who founded ComAbility and brought it to the initial revenues stage will continue as CTO. Mr. Moty Ben-Arie, Managing Partner at Vertex and Mr. Itzik Parnafes from Stata Ventures will join ComAbility's board of directors; Mr. Parnafes will serve as the chairman of the board. Mr. Parnafes is well versed in this space based on his own entrepreneurial experience, as a part of the initial team that founded Class Data [acquired by Cisco in ‘98] and a co-founder of Kagoor Networks [acquired by Juniper, '05].

ComAbility’s flagship product, neXus, is a unified subscribers and services operation system aimed at next-generation DSL, WiMAX, Ethernet and Mobile service providers. neXus brings an end-to-end solution to the back-office operations hurdle enabling service providers to easily launch, manage and deploy services for their subscribers.

neXus offers a range of canned subscriber management solutions that integrate industry-leading service providers’ networking database and control products and has its own built-in configurable business logic, allowing it to run out of the box. Requiring no policy server, it leverages network features to enable policy-like features and centralized management.

“Service providers are faced with a growing challenge as they strive to implement advanced services” says Ben-Arie. “The need for personalized services, along with the evolution of the network from ATM to Ethernet, new access technologies and new billing models have jointly created a disruptive change. We believe this change calls for a new paradigm in subscriber management. The ComAbility team consists of the right people to leverage that opportunity and create a successful company.”
