AlcaLu Buys OSS Firm

9:40 AM -- Alcatel-Lucent (NYSE: ALU) has bolstered its telecom software and services business in the U.S. by acquiring Atlanta-based OSS (operations and support system) specialist ReachView Technologies for an undisclosed sum.

ReachView, which has about 85 staff, helps operators and large enterprises with network performance issues by providing consultancy and integration services.

The software service specialist states on its Website that it has "planned and implemented network management and Service Assurance solutions for more than half of the top 100 communications service providers (CSPs) in the United States, including the RBOC, ILEC, CLEC, VoIP, long distance, mobile and wireless, cable, and internet service provider markets."

AlcaLu recently claimed it is the market leader in the telecom OSS market.
