Euronews: AlcaLu Offers Managed CEM

Alcatel-Lucent (NYSE: ALU), Kabel Deutschland GmbH and the Olympic torch lead the way in today's trip through EMEA telecom news.

  • AlcaLu has kicked off a week of Service Provider Information Technology (SPIT) announcements at Management World 2012 in Dublin with the launch of Managed Service Quality and Assurance (MSQA), a managed services version of its Motive Customer Experience Solution. AlcaLu announced its push into the customer experience management (CEM) sector in February when it unveiled its Motive package.   • On May 19 Light Reading co-founder Peter Heywood carried the Olympic torch on part of its journey around the U.K. See the video of Peter's proud torch-bearing trip here on YouTube.

  • Kabel Deutschland is buying fellow German cable operator Tele Columbus AG for €603 million ($770 million), reports Bloomberg. The acquisition brings another 1.7 million customers to Kabel Deutschland.

  • Interoute Communications Ltd. , the pan-European cloud services provider, has notched up another contract win in the shape of STERCI, a financial messaging company. STERCI is placing its Global Transaction Suite in Interoute's private cloud. (See Interoute Ramps Revenues 24% to €366M.)
