Digital Disruption 2013: Snaps From San Jose

SAN JOSE -- Digital Disruption 2013 -- The TM Forum may not have given new tablets to all the Americas show attendees like it did at the spring show in Nice, France, but it did go below the Surface on hot topics like SDN, NFV, and CEM.

And, it still had a few surprises up its sleeve. The show was held the same week as Halloween, after all.

Click on the image below to launch a short slide show of our time at the TM Forum 's SPIT-fest, renamed Digital Disruption and relocated to sunny San Jose, as well as some snaps from Ericsson AB (Nasdaq: ERIC)'s soiree at the science geeks' playground, the Tech Museum of Innovation.

Panels & Perspectives
Don't let Heavy Reading analyst Ari Banerjee's 'save me!' look fool you. The show was packed full of engaging panels, interesting insights, and lots of opinions. And Spelling Expo was taking place next door, clearly.

Re: Engagment lol, good one!

Engagment Our keen-eyed Copy Chief pointed out what no one at the TM Forum show or on the site, myself included, noticed: they spelled engagement wrong. If I had seen it, I could've come up with a better caption. "Putting the 'gag' in customer engagment?"

Re: DNA model All museums and rolloer-coaster rides should have non-empty wine glasses - and of course they should have Carols and Sarahs too.

Hope you didn't miss the World Series while you were there! :-)

Re: DNA model Hanging out at the museum with Carol and Sarah was big fun -- we got to carry wine glasses around (non-empty ones) and didn't have to push kids out of the way to play with the exhibits.

Bummer that the roller-coaster simulator is smart enough to not let you put a 200-foot sheer vertical drop into your ride.  (Hey, they offered it as an option. Who wouldn't click on that?)

Re: Hockey I was trying to figure out how Carol would have allowed a San Jose Sharks reference to appear in this publication, but the detailed caption cleared that up.

Re: Mariachi Disruption yeah, you needed those pics - our USP is drink shots (geddit?)

Re: DNA model I had to leave the wine when I made the jellyfish gene though. And got in big trouble for touching my purse while doing the experiment. It might start growing jellyfish now.

Re: Mariachi Disruption Ah yes, that was what I was going for. I know my Tarantino films as well I know my hockey.

The margs were quite pretty. I should've gotten a picture, or a drink, of one.

Mariachi Disruption Mariachi Disruption - isn't that a Quentin Tarantino movie?

With margaritas - sounds good...
