Tata Gets Cloudy With Google
Following the recent announcement from Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Mumbai: BHARTIARTL) that it's offering cloud-based managed IT services, Tata Communications Ltd. , which targets business users in India and overseas, has announced a partnership with Google (Nasdaq: GOOG) to offer a range of the Web services giant's applications, including email and presentation tools, to Indian enterprises. (See Tata Comms, Google Team on Cloud Services and Bharti Joins the Cloud Crowd.)
Tata already has cloud services experience, as it already offers cloud-based hosting and storage services to large companies using cloud storage and data management technology from specialist vendor NetApp Inc. (Nasdaq: NTAP).
The move with Google, though, gives it a greater reach into the Indian business market, as it targets companies of all sizes.
