Orange Promotes Cloud Pro for SMEs
How Western European Telcos Meet the Cloud Computing Needs of Enterprises examines the trends that are pushing telecom operators in Europe toward cloud computing. Orange needed to develop a comprehensive range of cloud services to appeal to various business segments. In order to achieve this goal, Orange entered into partnerships with Cisco, VMWare and EMC to offer infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) solutions, including private cloud and backup services, and software-as-a-service (SaaS) solutions, including security and unified communications services. In June 2011, Orange launched Cloud Pro, the online application suite for SMEs. Designed for small businesses with up to 50 employees, the service offers a la carte access to a range of business software for collaboration, administration, marketing, communication and CRM.
“In addition to providing their customers with applications and computing capabilities, Orange provides SMEs with extensive customer service and educates them about the benefits of cloud computing,” says Pyramid Analyst, Dr. Ewa Romaniuk-Calkowska. Between June 2011 and January 2012, the service has been adopted by 2,500 SMEs. “Pyramid Research believes it is critical for operators to educate clients on how they can benefit from cloud computing as SMEs are turning to operators for advice and expect them to become a single point of contact for all their communication and IT needs,” she notes.
