ST. LOUIS -- Amdocs (NYSE: DOX - News), the leading provider of customer experience systems, today announced that Chongqing Unicom, a provincial unit of China Unicom, has deployed Amdocs solutions as part of a comprehensive project to implement a next-generation business support system (NGBSS). Amdocs' NGBSS will enable Chongqing Unicom to significantly improve customer billing, customer relationship management and business intelligence to improve the service it offers customers, better its sales and marketing capabilities, and reduce its total cost of operations.

The Chongqing Unicom implementation is a key pilot project of a broader plan to roll out NGBSS across provinces in the China Unicom network. The Amdocs deployment was rated by China Unicom as the most successful NGBSS deployment to date when compared to NGBSS deployments in other provincial units. Chongqing Unicom provides a full range of services, including voice, data and multimedia communications to customers in Chongqing, China's fourth largest municipality.

"With valuable information from the new system, Chongqing can create and execute more comprehensive and targeted marketing activities. This enhanced capability delivered by Amdocs is critical in developing the rural, yet dynamic market of Chongqing," said Li Shiquan, general manager of Chongqing Unicom. "Amdocs also delivered and managed the project very smoothly, without a single service interruption."
