Analyze This! Telecom Analytics World in Pics

ATLANTA -- Telecom Analytics World -- It was a healthy mix of questions, challenges and projections alongside practical examples of how telecom operators are putting analytics to work at this week's Telecom Analytics World in Atlanta.

We heard from service providers like AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T), C Spire , FairPoint Communications Inc. and U.S. Cellular Corp. (NYSE: USM) about how they are successfully leveraging analytics for network optimization, customer care and more. And a number of big name vendors like Amdocs Ltd. (NYSE: DOX), relatively new players like WeFi Inc. and consultants from KPMG International talked strategy when it comes to making sense of mass amounts of data. (See AT&T: Big Data Hype Confuses Executives.)

Be sure to check back to our dedicated Telecom Analytics World show site here on Light Reading for more event coverage this week and beyond.

Speaking of counterfeits and analytics, Sproxil (http://sproxil.com) is a good case in this space. I've heard this company is doing enormously good in Africa. Through their award winning solution they have done over 13 million verifications to handle counterfeits.

Analytic vs Fraud The ideas and subjects on the topics of discussion were many, and of them I feel that the hot debate on whether our analytics and logistics partner help us enough on the fight against counterfeit goods, was the best topic to debate/hold a presentation on.

Re: Why would someone carry It can come handly in fighting off physical data hackers I suppose? By the way, nice take on the "analy-stick" you shouldn't have said that.

Why would someone carry > while LRTV's Dan Allen plays with his light saber

I don't get it. Why would someone carry a light saber in a professional conference? Or is this is an analy-stick? Or am I missing something here?
