ATLANTA -- Telecom Analytics World -- It was a healthy mix of questions, challenges and projections alongside practical examples of how telecom operators are putting analytics to work at this week's Telecom Analytics World in Atlanta.
We heard from service providers like AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T), C Spire , FairPoint Communications Inc. and U.S. Cellular Corp. (NYSE: USM) about how they are successfully leveraging analytics for network optimization, customer care and more. And a number of big name vendors like Amdocs Ltd. (NYSE: DOX), relatively new players like WeFi Inc. and consultants from KPMG International talked strategy when it comes to making sense of mass amounts of data. Speaking of counterfeits and analytics, Sproxil (http://sproxil.com) is a good case in this space. I've heard this company is doing enormously good in Africa. Through their award winning solution they have done over 13 million verifications to handle counterfeits.
