Some TiVo Subscribers Get Access to YouTube

Nearly four months after announcing an agreement with YouTube Inc. , TiVo Inc. (Nasdaq: TIVO) said Thursday that subscribers with a TiVo Series3 digital video recorder or a TiVo HD DVR wired to a high-speed cable or DSL connection would be able to access YouTube content.

The move is significant because it's the first time that TiVo has allowed subscribers to access streaming video content. Until now, the only way TiVo subscribers could access content from Amazon.com, The New York Times, and other TiVo partners was for TiVo to schedule a download to their DVRs.
